Children and Youth Offerings

Our children and youth Christian Formation programs are split by grades. This Summer, we are currently offering a children’s chapel called, Salt Light. Children will follow the crucifer out to the Center for Children and Families at the beginning of the 10 am Rite II service and return to sit with their family at the Peace.

If you have a child or children who are planning on participating in any of the following Christian Formation programs ie: Acolytes (8 years and up), Nursery (for children 0-4yrs old), Godly Play (Kindergarten – 3rd grade), Action Bible (4-5th grade), or Youth Group (6-12th grades) at Emmanuel, please fill out this participation waiver. Then continue on downloading the Heja scheduling app below.

Guardians: for the most up-to-date information please download the free Heja app. Yes, it’s for sports but the app works well for the programs we have at Emmanuel!

Children's Corners

At both the 8:00 am and 10:00 am Sunday services, Emmanuel offers "Children's Corners.” The "Children's Corners" are designed to keep our children in church. They are located at the chapel and the transept and are to be utilized during the services. Among toys for the infants, there are crayons and a new lesson each week from "Illustrated Ministry". These activities are engaging to children of all ages and are in sync with the daily lesson.

Godly Play at Emmanuel

Christian Formation for Children and Youth are all held in the Children and Family Center:

The following groups meet at 9:07 am on Sundays, September-May:

  • Grades Pre K-3rd are meeting in the "Godly Play" room.

  • Grades 4N5th Room

  • Youth Group Grades 6th-12th Youth Room

Youth Group

Youth Group is held September -May on Sundays at 9:07 am Children and Family Center. Wear comfortable shoes! Youth also meet on Wednesday nights from 6-8 pm in the Parish Hall. This educational experience is a drop-off and pick-up at the Parish Hall. Supplies and dinner are included! Youth Group is offered to children between the grades 6th-12th. Youth also participate in activities off campus and with other congregations! Stay tuned for more information!

Nursery Ministry

During the summer months, this ministry is offered Sunday Mornings from 10:00 am to Noon. Please make sure all items are labeled for your child. Please follow the sign-in and out procedures. If you would like to work at or volunteer at the Nursery, please contact, mgiltzow@emmanuel-parish.org.

Children's Choirs

Love to sing? Are you available on Wednesdays during the school year? If so, please join the Cherub's choir practice at 4:00 pm and or the Children's choir at 5:00pm both in the Choir Room! This activity requires some Sunday morning concerts. Please contact Dr. Homer Ferguson at hferguson@emmanuel-parish.org for the most up-to-date information.
