Music

Music is a pathway for the expression of our faith. Be it through membership in one of our choirs or simply through congregational participation, music is a valued way for us to express and experience the joy and love of the Gospel message.

Emmanuel Choir

The Emmanuel Choir is composed of dedicated volunteers who provide musical leadership to the 10 A.M. service and all major services of the church year. Grounded in the Anglican tradition, the choir provides a place for singers to express their faith and share their talents through the preparation and offering of a diverse repertoire of hymns, anthems, and liturgical music.

Children and Youth Choirs

The Cherub Choir, for grades K-2, and the Chorister Choir, for grades 3-8, allow the young singer to nurture their voice, learn the importance of music within the context of worship, foster leadership skills, and develop deep and meaningful friendships with other young Christians.

Red Door Ringers

The Red Door Ringers is an intergenerational handbell ensemble that rings 4 octaves of Malmark handbells and 4 octaves of Malmark handchimes. Weekly rehearsals are a source of joyous fellowship and musical pursuit which allows this instrumental group to offer appropriate anthems monthly and during major feasts of the church year.

Instruments

Our desire to sing God’s praises and immerse ourselves within the beauty of holiness is enriched by fine musical instruments. Our church is home to the C.B. Fisk, Inc. Opus 145 pipe organ installed in 2014-15, a 2014 Steinway B grand piano, a restored 1929 Chickering 6’4” grand piano, and the 1976 John Watson Italianate harpsichord, Opus 8.

Community Musical Offerings

The monthly Bach’s Lunch Recital Series provides musical respite through free afternoon concerts that feature some of our region’s top musicians in classical, jazz, bluegrass, and other varied musical expressions. Additionally, special programming through the year includes Choral Evensong, larger sacred choral works, and special concerts by international performers.
